– President Muhammadu Buhari lands in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, ahead of a scheduled summit

– The president is followed by some governors, ministers and other government officials from Nigeria

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, many hours after leaving Nigeria on Monday, October 28, ahead of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Summit which will hold between October 29 and 31.

Buhari’s arrival in Saudi Arabia was confirmed by the presidency in a video showing the moment he got to the King Khalid International Airport.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) also reports that Buhari arrived in a presidential aircraft that conveyed him and some members of his entourage.

It was learnt that the presidential aircraft landed at the airport at 10.02 pm.

Buhari, upon arrival at the airport, was received by the governor of Riyadh province, Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud and other Saudi government officials.

The Nigerian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Muhammadu Dodo, and the leadership of the Nigerian community in Saudi Arabia, were also at the airport to receive the president.

On the entourage with President Buhari are Babagana Zulum of Borno, Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi and Aminu Masari of Katsina states.

Ministers who also followed the president include Zubairu Dada, Niyi Adebayo, Timipre Sylva and Ibrahim Pantami.

The presidential entourage also has the National Security Adviser, Major-General Babagana Monguno (rtd), the director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar, and the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kolo Kyari.

Legit.ng reports that President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Saudi Arabia for London, the United Kingdom, on a private visit.

Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, made this known in a statement released on Monday, October 28.
