Exciting Gold Discoveries at Oriole Resources’ Mbe Project in Cameroon
In a thrilling development for the mining sector, Oriole Resources PLC (AIM: ORR) has unveiled promising results from its ongoing exploration at the Mbe gold project in Cameroon. The excitement surrounding the project has reached new heights as the company reported significant gold mineralization, continuing to reinforce investor confidence and interest in this vibrant market.
According to recent findings, subsurface mineralization has been confirmed over an impressive strike length of at least 200 meters and a width of up to 400 meters. This discovery also extends to a vertical depth of at least 290 meters, illuminating the expansive potential of the Mbe site. What’s more, the mineralization remains open in all directions and at depths, suggesting that there could be even more gold waiting to be uncovered.
The latest results, derived from drill hole MBDD012, are particularly noteworthy. This hole returned 21.3 meters of gold mineralization at 1.61 grams per tonne, with a standout section yielding 2.5 meters at an impressive 10.31 grams per tonne. These findings have catapulted the total number of gold-bearing intersections from the Phase 1 drilling program to an astonishing 196.
Currently, the Phase 1 drilling at the MB01-S target is reported to be about 70% complete. The drilling campaign has seen a total of 4,568.9 meters explored across 15 holes, with a sixteenth hole currently underway. Results from this next hole, MBDD013, are eagerly anticipated and expected to be released in late Q2 or early Q3.
Looking ahead, Oriole Resources has laid out an ambitious plan to leverage these findings further. In the third quarter, an independent consultant will be engaged to produce a JORC Exploration Target estimate, followed by the much-anticipated maiden mineral resource estimate in the fourth quarter. This strategic approach underscores Oriole’s commitment to transparency and diligence in their operations, as well as their determination to unlock the full potential of the Mbe project.
