Mashonaland West Urges Support for Extending President Mnangagwa’s Leadership Term

ZANU PF Mashonaland West Voices Support for Extended Leadership of President Mnangagwa

In a spirited gathering this past weekend at the Neuso Shopping Centre in Mhondoro-Mubaira, the ZANU PF Mashonaland West provincial leadership made it clear: they want President Emmerson Mnangagwa to remain in office beyond 2028, pushing for an extension of his term to 2030. This grassroots show of support reflects a collective optimism for the future under his leadership, especially in light of the significant progress the Second Republic has made in advancing development goals.

Representatives at the inter-district meeting highlighted a comprehensive agenda focused on inclusive development, particularly emphasizing rural transformation initiatives. “We’ve witnessed incredible growth and infrastructure development in our area,” expressed one enthusiastic party member. “Last year, despite facing challenges like drought, our President ensured we had food and support. This year, the rains have been favorable, which allows our projects to flourish.”

Cde Mary Mliswa-Chikoka, ZANU PF Mashonaland West Chairperson, called for unity among party members to carry out the resolutions made. “During our convening in Bulawayo, we collectively determined that President Mnangagwa’s term should be extended to 2030. This decision was made out of our respect for his leadership; he has not sought this extension himself, but we believe continuity will ensure further progress,” she stated, underlining that any misunderstanding regarding a potential third-term bid should be dismissed.

In addition to infrastructure improvements, which include the maintenance of roads and the proposed establishment of a mother’s shelter in the area, development efforts such as the introduction of a new school reflect the administration’s commitment to education. “Our President has also supported nutrition initiatives, recently providing over 4,000 chicks to our constituency, empowering local residents and enhancing food security,” noted Mhondoro-Mubaira Legislator Cde Chamu Chiwanza.

Furthermore, the Mashonaland West Women’s League Chairperson, Cde Constance Shamu, stressed the importance of extending the presidency to advance women empowerment initiatives. “President Mnangagwa’s focus on sustainable development aims to elevate women’s financial independence, which is crucial for our rural communities.”

In light of recent discussions on responsible social media usage, the party revealed plans for a forthcoming policy aimed at guiding members in navigating the online space constructively.

This rallying cry for leadership continuity comes amidst an atmosphere filled with hope for more development initiatives, marking a forward-looking approach in Zimbabwe’s political landscape.
