Mauritius is set to showcase its unique coffee at the China International Import Expo.
The Chamarel Coffee plantation, the only coffee producer in Mauritius, will debut its distinctive Arabica and Liberica beans at the expo in Shanghai. This event marks a significant opportunity for the brand to connect with Chinese importers and expand its market presence.
Chamarel Coffee’s Unique Offerings in China
Located in the picturesque Chamarel 7 Colored Earth Geopark, the plantation benefits from ideal growing conditions. The humid climate, gentle sunlight, and mineral-rich soil contribute to the rich flavor profile of the coffee beans. Thomas Lehoux, the development manager, emphasizes the importance of origin in coffee quality, stating that their beans are hand-processed to enhance their unique characteristics.
As coffee consumption rises in China, there is growing interest in diverse bean varieties and flavor profiles. Lehoux believes that the connection between a small island producer and a vast market like China presents significant opportunities for growth.
