Namibia is enhancing border service quality through targeted training.

This week, frontline officers at the Noordoewer border post participated in a two-day customer care training program. The initiative, held from 15 to 16 September, involved 36 officers from various agencies, aiming to improve service delivery at a crucial entry point.

Training Program Focuses on Customer Care

The training was organized by the Namibia Tourism Board in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security. It brought together officers from the police, immigration department, Namibia Revenue Agency, and Veterinary Services.

Flora Quest, a spokesperson for the Namibia Tourism Board, emphasized the importance of border officials in shaping travelers’ experiences. Their conduct and service quality are critical as they are the first and last points of contact for visitors to Namibia.

Objectives of the Training Initiative

The program aims to equip officers with essential customer-care skills and effective communication tools. Additionally, it focuses on enhancing inter-agency cooperation among the various departments involved in border management.

By improving these skills, the initiative seeks to ensure that travelers have a positive impression of Namibia from the moment they arrive.
