Gabon is gearing up for its National Day celebrations with a series of events planned from August 14 to 17.
In a recent meeting in Franceville, officials discussed the organization of festivities and the roles of command assistants. The Prefect, Raphaƫl Obali, expressed confidence in the preparations and addressed concerns regarding the payment of allowances for the assistants.
Gabon National Day Celebrations Planned
The Prefect of the Department of Passa, Raphaƫl Obali, and the President of the Council Departmental, Didance Oyabi, convened command assistants to discuss the upcoming National Day celebrations. The meeting took place on July 27, focusing on the organization and responsibilities of the assistants in their respective villages.
Events will kick off with a reception hosted by the Departmental Council on August 14, followed by another reception by the City of Franceville on August 15. On August 16, the Prefect will welcome guests ahead of the official parade and grand reception organized by the Governor of Haut-OgoouƩ on August 17.
Payment of Allowances for Command Assistants
During the meeting, concerns were raised about the payment of allowances for command assistants. Obali reassured them that the payment process is progressing well, with the Treasury completing necessary operations. A meeting is scheduled for the assistants to receive their payments shortly.
