Namibia is taking significant steps to enhance mathematics education through targeted teacher training.
Recently, Bank Windhoek, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the African Leadership Institute, hosted a mathematics training workshop for Grade 8 and 9 teachers near Okahandja. A total of 39 teachers from various regions participated, aiming to improve teaching methods and support professional growth.

The workshop is part of a broader initiative to enhance mathematics instruction in Namibian schools. Bank Windhoek’s executive officer emphasized the critical role of teachers in shaping the nation’s future. The bank believes that a strong foundation in education is essential for preparing students for a rapidly evolving world.
Rauna Shuungula, the chief education officer for science and mathematics, acknowledged the bank’s vital support for educational development. She highlighted the positive impact of previous training sessions, which have already benefited nearly 200 mathematics teachers over the past two years.
