500 participants in the “Dubai Snow Run Challenge”

More than 500 runners of different nationalities and ages took part in running 3 and 5 kilometers in the snow in a temperature of 4 degrees below zero, in a wonderful atmosphere and enjoyed an unforgettable experience by participating in the competitions of the third edition of “Dubai Snow Run” , the first of its kind in the Middle East region, hosted annually by the Dubai Sports Council and Majid Al Futtaim, at the Ski Dubai Snow Hall in the Mall of the Emirates.
The running competitions were attended by Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General, and Mohammed Al Atari, Vice President of Global Snow Projects at Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment, Entertainment and Cinema.
Felix Matt won first place in the men’s 5 km race after finishing the race in a time of 32:36 minutes, followed by C Pepper in second place with a time of 34:27 minutes, and Djovac Nujoma Kris was third with a time of 39:02 minutes, and in Race 5 Women’s Kilometers, Ann Wanguhi won first place with a time of 38:35 minutes, followed by Luz Barrios in second place with a time of 42:04 minutes, and Gabriella Fatou came in third place with a time of 43:03 minutes.
In the 3 km race, Abdelali Bouazzaoui won first place in the men’s category after finishing the race in a time of 18:25 minutes, followed by Rich Zielinsky in second place with a time of 20:45 minutes, and Hamid Al-Mualla came. in third place with a time of 20:47 minutes, and in the women’s category she won Jackie Liebenberg came first with a time of 28:36 minutes, followed by Olga Belukalova in second place with a time of 29:27 minutes, and Maryam Akhras came in third place with a time of 31:41 minutes.
The race stretched over 3km and 5km, with competitors running a mile-long route up an elevated ski slope across the top of the Ski Dubai Snow Hall and down again, and loops were repeated until the distance was complete.
The race witnessed strong competitions between participants from all parts of society and of different nationalities from within and outside the country, aged 16 and over, where everyone had a wonderful experience by participating in this unique race, which helps to promote sports tourism in Dubai by providing a wonderful and unprecedented experience of practicing running on the snow in summer time, which is an opportunity for residents and visitors to participate in the wonderful snowfall, where the temperature reaches less than 4 degrees below zero in summer time, which encourages attracting more tourists to Dubai.
Snow sports are among the main sports on the Dubai Sports Council’s annual agenda, with the Council eager to work with different parties to organize more such events for different nationalities as well as for people with determination, in addition to efforts to spread them among the people and set up. on promoting diversity in sporting events to enable all sections of society of all nationalities living in Dubai to practice the sports they prefer. The council attaches great importance to snow sports. council, in collaboration with Majid Al Futtaim, organizes many snow events and competitions throughout the year.
