Klivvr, an Egyptian fintech company, is set to significantly expand its consumer finance operations, aiming for a portfolio of EGP 6.5 billion by 2027.
The company plans to increase its consumer finance portfolio by 160% while also venturing into small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) lending. Klivvr aims to disburse EGP 2–3 billion in SME financing in its first year, pending regulatory approval.
Klivvr Targets Major Growth in Consumer Finance
Klivvr’s ambitious expansion follows a successful first year, during which it disbursed over EGP 2.5 billion in consumer finance. Currently, the company holds a financing portfolio of approximately EGP 2.4–2.5 billion and aims to grow this to EGP 5.5–6.5 billion next year.
This growth trajectory marks a significant acceleration from earlier plans to increase its portfolio from EGP 1.5 billion to EGP 3–4 billion. Klivvr also intends to double its merchant network from around 1,000 to over 2,000 outlets, enhancing access to installment-based purchasing.
Consumer Finance Sector Growth in Egypt
The expansion aligns with the rapid growth of Egypt’s regulated consumer finance sector. Financial Regulatory Authority data shows financing disbursements reached EGP 71.84 billion in the first half of 2026, an 88.5% increase from EGP 38.11 billion in the same period of 2025.
This surge reflects a growing demand for non-bank financing as households and businesses seek alternatives to traditional bank credit. Digital platforms are facilitating this shift by integrating financing into retail transactions, simplifying applications, and leveraging customer data for credit assessments.
