Taraba Head of Civil Service Supports Anti-Corruption Commission’s Efficiency Efforts

The Taraba State government is reinforcing its commitment to anti-corruption efforts.

Dr. Hamidu Ahmed Kara, the Head of Civil Service, visited the Taraba State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission to express ongoing support for enhancing institutional efficiency. He emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration and the need to address both financial and administrative corruption.

Strengthening Anti-Corruption Efforts in Taraba State

During his visit, Kara assured the Commission’s leadership of his office’s unwavering support. He stated that the Head of Civil Service would provide necessary assistance to help the Commission fulfill its mandate effectively. This commitment aims to bolster the Commission’s operational capacity and enhance service delivery across government institutions.

Kara highlighted the need for the Commission to broaden its oversight beyond financial issues, addressing administrative and technical challenges that can hinder effective service delivery. He noted that corruption is not solely about financial misappropriation but also includes various lapses that require thorough oversight.

Key Initiatives for Improved Service Delivery

The Commission’s Chairman, Major General Habila Panyan Shon Zing Vintennaba (retd), responded positively to Kara’s assurances. He revealed that the Commission has launched a digital portal to facilitate quicker and more secure public complaints. This initiative aims to enhance accessibility and strengthen feedback mechanisms, allowing citizens to report issues more efficiently.

Next Steps for Taraba State’s Anti-Corruption Commission

  • Expand oversight activities to include administrative and technical issues.
  • Collaborate on streamlining administrative processes in the civil service.
  • Enhance the digital portal for public complaints.

Taraba State is taking significant steps to combat corruption and improve governance.
