Ho Chi Minh City is set to transform its urban landscape with a massive redevelopment project.
The city has approved a consortium led by Sun Group for the Binh Quoi-Thanh Da urban area, with an estimated investment of VND98.71 trillion (.75 billion). This project will cover nearly 424 hectares and is designed to accommodate about 54,000 residents.
Massive Urban Redevelopment in Ho Chi Minh City
The Binh Quoi-Thanh Da project will include approximately 23,171 residential units, primarily high-rise apartments. Out of these, 13,150 units will be high-rise, making up more than half of the total housing stock. The development will also feature 637 townhouses, 283 villas, and the renovation of 1,629 existing homes.
A mixed-use complex of up to 40 stories will be built near a future metro line, providing 880 apartments and 1,773 accommodation units. The project emphasizes social housing, allocating nearly 125,900 square meters of land for this purpose, which is over 20% of the residential land required by Vietnamese regulations.
