The property developer has teamed up with Pieter Mostert Architects for the Woodlands @ Herboths estate near Windhoek. This collaboration will oversee the design approval process for 31 freehold erven, ensuring a cohesive architectural identity while allowing homeowners to customize their residences.

The partnership between APxHouse and Pieter Mostert Architects is set to transform the Woodlands @ Herboths residential estate. Pieter Mostert will serve as the estate architect, ensuring that all homes maintain a consistent architectural character. This approach aims to preserve the estate’s long-term character and property values, moving away from conventional development models.

APxHouse’s chief executive, Le-Hugo van Rooyen, emphasized that the estate was designed to provide a unique living experience. The collaboration allows homeowners the freedom to create their dream homes while maintaining a unified architectural vision.

Key Features of the Off-Grid Development

Woodlands @ Herboths spans approximately 160 hectares and includes 31 freehold erven, with sizes ranging from three to eight hectares. Each property is designed to be off-grid, featuring hybrid solar power systems, bulk water access from NamWater, and on-site wastewater treatment.

The estate is strategically located about 20 minutes from Windhoek and is accessible via the upgraded Dr Hage Geingob Freeway, which leads to Hosea Kutako International Airport. Wildlife conservation corridors will also be maintained, allowing for the natural movement of wildlife across the estate.
