The municipal council of Mouila has reported a significant budget surplus for 2025.

During a recent session, the council unanimously approved the administrative account, revealing a budget surplus of 197 668 777 FCFA. The execution of the budget showed a satisfactory performance, with 97.3% of revenues and 97.0% of expenditures realized.

Mouila’s Budget Surplus Highlights Financial Management

The council’s session, led by Mayor FidĆØle Bouka, included 23 of the 33 municipal councillors. The financial report presented balanced accounts, indicating a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility. The overall financial balance, including carryovers, reached 836.8 million FCFA.

Despite the positive results, the municipality remains heavily reliant on state transfers. Local revenue generation only achieved 87.1%, while state subsidies were fully realized at 100%. This dependency underscores the need for improved resource mobilization at the local level.
