The Gambia’s Hajj operations are in full swing as pilgrims return home.
Numo Sanneh, managing director of the Gambia International Airlines GIA, confirmed that 280 pilgrims from the fourth Hajj flight for 2026 returned home on Monday. Currently, 434 pilgrims, including officials, remain in Saudi Arabia awaiting their return.

Sanneh also mentioned that another flight, carrying 304 pilgrims, is scheduled to depart from Jeddah to Banjul on Thursday, June 18. This flight is part of the airline’s commitment to facilitate the return of Gambian pilgrims.
