Ho Chi Minh City is enhancing its healthcare infrastructure with the inauguration of multiple regional hospitals.
The Thu Duc Regional General Hospital opened on April 24, 2025, with an investment of VND 1.91 trillion (USD 72.8 million). This facility features 1,000 beds and modern medical systems, catering to the healthcare needs of the city’s 15 million residents.
Thu Duc Hospital: A New Era in Healthcare
The Thu Duc Regional General Hospital spans over 58,000 square metres and includes a basement and 10 above-ground floors. It offers a full range of medical departments and specialized healthcare services, adhering to top-tier general hospital standards.
Since its opening, outpatient visits have surged to between 3,500 and 4,000 patients daily, an increase from around 3,000. Inpatient numbers have also risen from approximately 550 to between 750 and 800 cases.

Alongside Thu Duc, the Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital was inaugurated with similar capacity and features, including a rooftop helipad for air ambulance services. The Cu Chi Regional General Hospital, which also opened in October 2025, is designed to streamline treatment and reduce patient waiting times.
These hospitals are strategically located to alleviate pressure on central hospitals and enhance healthcare services for surrounding provinces.
