Hakainde Hichilema Files Unopposed Nomination for UPND Presidency

Zambia’s political landscape is set as President Hakainde Hichilema secures his nomination unopposed for the upcoming elections.

Hichilema has filed his nomination papers for the UPND presidential candidacy ahead of the party’s General Conference scheduled for April 15, 2026. His nomination received support from several provinces, including Luapula, Lusaka, Northern, Western, Copperbelt, and Eastern.
