Hyundai Motor’s Palisade SUV has achieved significant recognition in Canada, showcasing its excellence in the automotive industry.

On Thursday, Hyundai announced that its Palisade SUV and Kia’s EV9 electric SUV were named winners at the 2026 Canadian Car of the Year Awards. The Palisade secured the title of Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year, while the EV9 was awarded Canadian Electric Utility Vehicle of the Year.

The Palisade’s recognition marks Hyundai’s second consecutive win in this category, following the Hyundai Santa Fe’s victory in 2025. The jury of 53 automotive journalists praised the Palisade for its next-generation hybrid powertrain, advanced safety technologies, and overall refinement.

This award highlights the vehicle’s quality and consumer appeal, reinforcing Hyundai’s commitment to innovation in the automotive sector.

EV9 Electric SUV Recognized for Design and Usability

The Kia EV9 has also made a mark, earning the title of Canadian Electric Utility Vehicle of the Year. This accolade follows its previous finalist placements in 2024 and 2025. The EV9 was commended for its striking exterior design, user-friendly infotainment system, and competitive pricing.
