FCT Minister announces plans for 50th anniversary celebration and Tinubu’s third year

The Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria is set to celebrate a significant milestone this year.

Minister Nyesom Wike announced that the FCT will commemorate its 50th anniversary alongside the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. A committee will be formed to coordinate the celebrations, which are scheduled for about three months from now.

FCT Marks 50 Years of Progress

Wike shared his gratitude for reaching this milestone during his tenure as minister. He emphasized that a special compendium will be unveiled to honor the golden jubilee. This celebration reflects the achievements made in the territory over the past five decades.

Wike highlighted the infrastructural advancements in the FCT, attributing them to policy decisions made under the Tinubu administration. He noted that removing the FCT from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) has allowed for better access to funding from commercial banks, leading to significant development.
