Lagos State to Begin Lekki/Epe Road Rehabilitation on January 25

The Lagos State Government is set to rehabilitate a key roadway, impacting traffic and infrastructure in the region.

The 20km carriageway rehabilitation on the Lekki/Epe Road will commence on January 25 and is expected to last for about 64 days. The project, awarded by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, aims to upgrade the road from Admiralty to Jubilee Bridge.

Lagos State Begins Major Road Rehabilitation Project

The rehabilitation of the Lekki/Epe Road will be executed in eight sections, utilizing a flexible asphalt pavement. This phased approach allows for systematic upgrades while minimizing disruption. The Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Mr. Olufemi Daramola, emphasized the importance of this project during a recent site tour.

Traffic management will be a priority during the rehabilitation. The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, stated that work will be conducted at various intersections rather than closing the entire corridor at once. This strategy aims to ease congestion and maintain accessibility for commuters.
