Hamdan Humanitarian Ship Delivers Aid to Gaza, Strengthening UAE's Commitment to Peace and Support
In a significant display of humanitarian support, the Hamdan Humanitarian Ship has arrived at Al Arish Port in Egypt as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. This mission underscores the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) continuous commitment to assist the Palestinian people during these challenging times.
Under the leadership of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent, the ship set sail from Khalifa Port on August 30. It’s carrying an impressive 7,000 tons of essential supplies aimed at providing urgent relief to those in need in the Gaza Strip.
But what exactly does this aid consist of? The shipment boasts 5,000 tons of vital food parcels designed to nourish and support families. Additionally, 1,900 tons of supplies for community kitchens have been included to ensure that hot meals are available to those who require them most. To bolster healthcare services, 100 tons of medical tents were sent along with five fully equipped ambulances, enabling better medical response and care for the population.
This voyage is part of a larger initiative, with the UAE having dispatched a total of 20 aid ships to Gaza under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. Since its inception, the operation has witnessed the delivery of approximately 90,000 tons of humanitarian aid, amounting to an extraordinary commitment of US.8 billion.
