As the sun rises over Zimbabwe, a sense of anticipation fills the air. The much-anticipated 2025 Grade 7 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) examinations are in full swing, with an impressive 417,820 candidates taking part in this crucial academic milestone. These young learners, hailing from all corners of the nation, are currently seated across 5,545 examination centers, ready to showcase their knowledge and skills.

In an exclusive conversation with Africazine, ZIMSEC spokesperson Nicky Dhlamini provided an encouraging update on the exams, which entered their second week this past Tuesday. “We are pleased to report that examination centers across the country are functioning efficiently, and candidates have begun their exams with focus and determination. Our monitoring teams have also observed that the integrity of the examinations is firmly upheld by diligent school administrators,” Dhlamini shared.

Starting on September 22, the Grade 7 assessments are set to continue until October 6, 2025. This long-established process not only serves as a gateway for students to advance to secondary education, but it is also a testament to Zimbabwe’s commitment to maintaining high educational standards.

ZIMSEC has reassured parents and guardians that all necessary security and administrative measures are in place, creating an environment conducive to fair and untroubled examinations. The enthusiasm surrounding the exams reflects the resilience and ambition of Zimbabwean students, who are stepping into their futures with hope and determination.
