“Bournemouth Ready to Rock: Glastonbury Legends Set for One-Night Concert Extravaganza!”

If you’re looking for an evening of vibrant music, cultural exchange, and inspiring stories, then mark your calendar! Malawian musical duo, Madalisto Band, is all set to bring their unique sound to Bournemouth this August. Comprising the talented Yobu Maligwa, who skillfully plays the babatoni, and Yosefe Kalekeni, who charms the audience with his four-string guitar and foot-drum, Madalisto Band has carved out a niche in the world music scene.

Hailing from the bustling streets of Lilongwe, Yobu and Yosefe have faced numerous challenges, but their passion for music has never faltered. Their innovative use of homemade instruments and their uplifting melodies have already won them a dedicated following both locally and internationally. From street corners to concert stages, their journey is a testament to resilience and creativity.

On August 14, get ready for an exciting evening at Patch Bournemouth, located at 2-12 Commercial Road, where not only will Madalisto Band take to the stage, but the event will also feature a sneak peek of “The Banjo Boys,” an upcoming documentary that chronicles their remarkable journey. Following the 10-minute preview, attendees can participate in a Q&A session with the band members and their manager, Neil Nayar, along with Bournemouth filmmaker, Johan Nayar. Johan is an accomplished director, known for his award-winning documentary “The Chase,” which is currently streaming on Adventure+ and available on select airlines.

The buzz around “The Banjo Boys” is palpable, especially since it has recently been selected for screening at the British Urban Film Festival, a prestigious festival recognized for its BAFTA qualifications in the UK.

Join the festivities starting at 6:30 PM when the live performances kick off, but don’t forget to arrive early; doors will open at 6 PM. This event promises not just a showcase of talent, but also a celebration of culture, perseverance, and the universal language of music.

So gather your friends, and prepare to be uplifted by the soulful sounds and inspiring stories of Madalisto Band—you won’t want to miss this unique cultural experience!
