Record-Breaking Turnout: Over 38,000 Visitors Flock to Egypt’s Gardens and Zoos During Eid Al-Adha Celebrations!

Eid Al Adha Sees Thriving Turnout at Egypt’s Zoos and Public Gardens

As the joyous celebrations of Eid Al Adha kicked off, Egypt’s green spaces and zoos turned into hotspots for families and friends eager to embrace the festive spirit. During the first two days of the holiday, approximately 38,446 visitors flocked to various public gardens, zoos in five governorates, and the popular Aquarium Grotto Garden, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. This initiative not only provided leisure opportunities but also showcased the government’s commitment to enhancing public facilities.

Dr. Hamed Al-Aqsas, the Chairman of the Public Authority for Veterinary Services, expressed the ministry’s dedication to ensuring a delightful experience for visitors. Under the guidance of Alaa Farouk, the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, parks and gardens were meticulously prepared to accommodate the high volume of visitors expected during the festive period. The focus remained on providing the best entertainment and cultural services, ensuring that families felt comfortable and safe.

Notably, the Aquarium Grotto Garden in Zamalek attracted around 3,500 visitors, while the Alexandria Zoo was a major favorite, welcoming an impressive 15,903 guests. Other zoos also reported significant footfalls, including Kafr El-Sheikh with 9,233 visitors, Fayoum Zoo with 3,700, Beni Suef Zoo with 3,400, and the Sharqia Oriental Zoo receiving 2,710 eager animal lovers.

To manage the crowds effectively, the General Authority for Veterinary Services made the strategic decision to cancel holidays for veterinarians and staff working in these facilities. A well-thought-out plan was also implemented to handle the influx, including increasing the number of entry outlets and reinforcing staff at the gates to ensure a smooth entry process.

For those wishing to experience these vibrant environments, the gardens are open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an entry fee of just 5 EGP—a small price for the joy and entertainment that awaits.

This year’s Eid celebrations not only brought together families in a festive atmosphere but also spotlighted the importance of public parks and zoos as vital recreational spaces. As the holiday season continues, many Egyptian families are sure to take advantage of these beautiful spaces to create cherished memories.
