Nando’s Towson Bids Farewell: A Culinary Chapter Comes to an End!

Nando's PERi-PERi Closes Its Doors in Towson: A Move Forward for the South African Chain
By Africazine

In a bittersweet twist for food lovers and fans of the popular South African chain Nando’s, the Towson location is set to close its doors after more than a decade of serving up delicious flame-grilled chicken seasoned with the iconic peri-peri chili pepper. This announcement came earlier this week, sending ripples of nostalgia through the community, where locals have long flocked to savor those spicy flavors that Nando’s is celebrated for.

Situated inside Towson Square on East Joppa Road, Nando’s was not only famous for its tasty meals but was also the first restaurant to open in this vibrant entertainment hub back in 2014. Its closure marks the end of an era for this shopping center, which will now see only the Cinemark theater operating as its remaining tenant.

In a heartfelt statement from Nando’s corporate office, the restaurant expressed gratitude to the Towson community: “After more than a decade in Towson Square, we have decided not to renew our lease and will be closing effective July 27th. We have truly loved serving spicy PERi-PERi to the community there,” the statement read. For loyal customers, fear not! The company has reassured its fanbase that they can still get their Nando’s fix at the nearby Harbor East in Baltimore or at any of their other convenient locations.

The closing of the Towson restaurant also comes with a commitment to the dedicated staff, affectionately called Nandocas. In their statement, Nando’s highlighted the opportunity for these team members to transfer to other nearby locations, demonstrating the chain’s commitment to its employees during this transition.

As the culinary landscape continues to evolve, Nando’s remains a trailblazer, and this decision opens the door to new possibilities for both the brand and the community. While it’s a moment of change, it also marks a chance for growth, innovation, and the continued celebration of South African flavors across the region.

With a firm foothold in the fast-casual dining scene, Nando’s will surely continue to thrive as it expands its reach, bringing the joy of peri-peri chicken to more fans across the United States.

Stay tuned for more updates on local dining and entertainment as the community adjusts to these changes in Towson.
