Emirates and flydubai Soar High: Over 5 Million Passengers Experience the Skies in 2024!

In an impressive display of growth and collaboration, Emirates and flydubai have jointly transported over five million passengers in 2024, showcasing a remarkable 36 percent rise compared to last year. This surge underlines the effectiveness of their strategic partnership, which has been thriving since its inception in 2017. With this success, both airlines are not only strengthening their operations but also aligning closely with Dubai’s ambitious D33 economic vision—an initiative aimed at establishing the emirate as a leading global hub for trade, tourism, and transport.

Since they began working together, Emirates and flydubai have dramatically expanded their reach, blossoming from a joint offering of just 29 cities to an impressive 240 destinations spread across more than 100 countries worldwide. This extensive network provides passengers with a plethora of options, transforming travel out of Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3 into a seamless experience.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Chairman and Chief Executive of both Emirates Group and flydubai, proudly attributes this milestone to what he describes as “collaborative excellence.” He emphasized that their partnership enriches the travel experience by providing more diverse flight options and enhancing global connectivity. Passengers can now select from an average of 295 daily codeshare flights, which significantly increases their flexibility and choice.

Flydubai has managed to operate over 330 weekly flights from Terminal 3 to an array of intriguing destinations, including enchanting places like Zanzibar, Kathmandu, and the picturesque city of Naples. On the other hand, Emirates customers enjoy access to over 132 flydubai destinations, while flydubai travelers can connect through Emirates’ extensive network, which features more than 142 destinations.

Moreover, there’s been a notable uptick in premium travel demand, with a staggering 31 percent increase in premium cabin bookings. This trend not only reflects the airlines’ commitment to high-quality service but also highlights their capability to cater to travelers seeking luxurious experiences. Noteworthy new routes such as Bogotá in Colombia and Antananarivo in Madagascar have been introduced by Emirates, with plans to add exciting places like Da Nang and Shenzhen in the coming summer.

Flydubai isn’t standing still either; the airline has expanded its network by adding ten new destinations, including summer favorites like Antalya and Basel. With a fleet of 89 aircrafts, they now serve over 130 destinations, cementing Dubai’s role as a pivotal gateway for international travel and contributing meaningfully to the city’s ambition of becoming a primary economic and tourism hub.

In summary, the collaboration between Emirates and flydubai not only reflects their mutual success but also marks a transformative era for travel in and out of Dubai. With their continuous expansion and focus on service quality, passengers are sure to benefit from an enhanced travel experience in this thriving global city.
