FCT Police Conducts Operational Assessment of Recreational Centers for Safe Festive Season

In a proactive move to ensure a secure environment during the festive season, the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Olatunji Disu, carried out an operational assessment of several key recreational centers on Thursday. This included popular spots like Millennium Park, Jabi Park, Lugbe ShopRite, and the vibrant Magic Land. The initiative reflects the FCT Police Command’s commitment to residents’ safety and peace of mind as they navigate the celebratory season.

According to a press statement from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, SP Josephine Adeh, this operational assessment is just one of the many steps taken to ensure that residents and visitors alike can enjoy the festive period without concern for their safety. “This initiative is part of the Command’s proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of residents during the festive season,” Adeh stated.

During the site visits, CP Disu evaluated the strategic security deployments and measures in place, underscoring the importance of enhanced police visibility in these key recreational areas. His presence served as a reassuring signal to the public, demonstrating the police’s active involvement in fostering a safe environment for holiday celebrations.

The FCT Police are urging citizens to participate actively in this community safety initiative by promptly reporting any suspicious activities to the police. Emergency lines have been established for this purpose: 08032003913, 08028940883, and 07057337653.

As families and friends come together in celebration, the FCT Police Command remains dedicated to providing a joyful and secure atmosphere throughout the season. “The Command wishes everyone a safe and joyous festive season,” said Adeh, emphasizing the collaborative spirit in maintaining safety.

With the holidays just around the corner, the proactive steps taken by the police not only aim to enhance the sense of security among FCT residents but also contribute to the overall positive experience during this festive time. It’s a reminder that safety is a collective responsibility, and through vigilance and communication, a wonderful holiday can be enjoyed by all.
