Egypt’s Weather Update: Hot and Humid Days Ahead

Mon 09 Sep 2024 | 08:20 AM | By Africazine

As the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) reports, residents of Egypt can expect hot and humid weather to dominate most regions throughout Monday. As we embrace the sun-soaked days of September, the southern areas, including South Sinai and further south, will experience particularly intense heat and humidity. It’s a classic Egyptian summer that many might find invigorating!

While the bustling streets of Cairo and Lower Egypt are likely to see some mist in the mornings on agricultural and highway roads, caution is advised for drivers. The mix of humidity and mist can lead to reduced visibility, especially during those early morning commutes.

In terms of visibility, low to medium clouds are anticipated to grace the skies intermittently, particularly stretching from the northern parts of the country down to Cairo. These clouds could usher in a slightly milder atmosphere, offering a brief respite from the high temperatures during the day.

The maritime activities along the Mediterranean and Red Seas will also be quite favorable. Expect moderate wave conditions, with heights ranging between 1.5 and 2 meters, accompanied by gentle northwest surface winds. This makes for a perfect day for those wanting to embrace the beautiful coastal scenery or indulge in water sports.

As nighttime approaches, the coolness will bring moderately hot and humid conditions, ideal for those evening gatherings or strolls along the Nile.

Here are some temperature forecasts for key cities throughout Egypt today:
Cairo: 34°C
Alexandria: 32°C
Marsa Matruh: 31°C
Sohag: 38°C
Qena and Aswan: both tipping at a sizzling 40°C.

So, whether you’re planning a day at the beach, a cultural visit to the pyramids, or simply enjoying a cup of tea on your balcony, it’s essential to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun.

As Egypt continues to impress with its rich culture and stunning landscapes, let’s embrace this warm weather as part of the vibrant life that makes Egypt a unique destination year-round.
