Turkish Cooperation Strengthens Health Education in Dakar

In an inspiring move towards enhancing health education in Senegal, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) has made a significant contribution to the Health Vocational School (EMPS) of Dakar Municipality. This initiative aims not just to bolster practical training but also to equip the students with essential resources that facilitate a modern educational experience.

During a recent opening ceremony, key figures gathered, including Nur Sağman, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Dakar, and Barthélémy Dias, the Mayor of Dakar. Together, they celebrated the installation of new technology and resources that will undoubtedly have a long-lasting impact on the community. In total, TİKA gifted a variety of valuable equipment, including 20 state-of-the-art computers for the school’s library and a laser printer—tools that are crucial for fostering student research initiatives in the vital field of healthcare.

Furthermore, five video projectors were added to the school’s inventory; these tools will serve to enhance visual training techniques for midwifery and nursing programs. With these advancements in technology, EMPS can provide a richer, more engaging learning atmosphere that prepares students effectively for their future healthcare careers.

Dr. Rokhaya Seck, the Director of the Vocational School of Health, expressed enthusiasm about these improvements. She highlighted the program’s alignment with Dakar’s broader educational goals, emphasizing the importance of modern training facilities in nurturing competent healthcare professionals who can meet the demands of the community.
