Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has confirmed that Kelechi Iheanacho is now fully recovered and ready to join the national squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 27-year-old striker has successfully completed his treatment for a muscular injury at Leicester City, and Peseiro has shared that Iheanacho will arrive in Cote d’Ivoire.
Iheanacho is set to reunite with his teammates in Lagos later today, where they will be treated to a send-off dinner by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Unfortunately, the Super Eagles will be without the services of Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Boniface, who have been ruled out of AFCON 2023 due to injuries.
Nonetheless, Iheanacho’s return marks a significant boost for Nigeria as they aim for success in the prestigious tournament.
