Rangers signed Fábio Silva earlier this month and Philippe Clement’s side are now edging towards bringing another new face to Ibrox.
That’s according to Denmark’s BT, who state FC Nordsjælland’s Mohamed Diomande is set to make a switch to Rangers.
The report states the midfielder’s impending sale to Philippe Clement’s side will become the ‘biggest trade of the winter’ market.
At the weekend, the same outlet said the Danish club have agreed a deal with Rangers for the 22-year-old’s transfer. It’s now claimed Philippe Clement’s side will pay DKK 40m [€5.36m] and the fee could increase with bonuses.
Diomande has managed five assists from 21 games this season and his current deal lasts until the end of this year. He had attracted interest from several clubs, but Rangers have managed to get ahead of others in the transfer race.
The player was with the Nordsjælland squad in the US, but has returned to Denmark, to seal a move to Ibrox soon.
It’s claimed the Ivory Coast midfielder will now have to carry out transfer formalities like medical tests and signing the contract with Rangers. This is expected to take place in the coming days.
