In a recent interview with NFF TV, Captain Ahmed Musa expressed his enthusiasm about representing Nigeria in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2023.
This edition is Musa’s fourth AFCON tournament since his professional debut for the national team over a decade ago.
The former VV Venlo star won the 2013 edition with Super Eagles in South Africa.
Musa, part of the Nigerian contingent selected by coach Jose Peseiro, conveyed the team’s readiness and excitement to give their best for the country.
In his statement, Musa said, “Everybody is happy, excited, ready to go for the start of the tournament.”
Addressing Nigerians, the captain urged them to believe in the team, emphasizing the importance of their support.
Musa stated, “The message I have for Nigerians is just believe in the team, that is the only thing we need. With their support, we can go far.”
The Super Eagles’ journey in the 2023 AFCON kicks off with their first match against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.
The team is geared up for a spirited performance as they vie for fourth AFCON glory in Cote D’Ivoire.
