Head Coach Hugo Broos is leaving no room for compromise as South Africa gears up for the 2023 Afcon in Ivory Coast.
Unveiling his uncompromising stance on player selection, Broos stated he would pick players who would help him get results.
As the nation anticipates its campaign in the prestigious tournament, Broos is making it unequivocally clear that star power and club affiliations won’t sway his decisions. Whether you hail from the illustrious ranks of PSG or Bayern, the only ticket to representing South Africa lies in aligning seamlessly with Broos’s strategic vision and delivering results.
“SAFA hired my services without 56 million people involved. They asked me to take the national team forward. They never told me that they also hired other 56 million coaches to coach Bafana Bafana,” he said.
“Now people coach to me and ask why did you not pick that player who plays for that club. As long I am here I pick whoever delivers for me. You can play for PSG, Bayern etc, if you not a fit to my system you won’t be called up,” he added.
