Super Eagles sensation, Terem Moffi, has identified the Nigerian, African, and European players who served as sources of inspiration during his formative years as a budding footballer. Currently representing the Super Eagles at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, Moffi was a late addition to the final squad after Victor Boniface withdrew due to a groin injury.

In an interview with Nigerian journalist Wale Quadry, Moffi shared his football influences, stating, “In Europe, I was a Chelsea fan, so Didier Drogba was a major inspiration. I also admired Robin van Persie, ironically. There were numerous top-quality strikers whom I watched, and I gleaned traits from them – observing their playstyle and incorporating aspects into my own game.”

Moffi emphasized the impact of learning from top players, highlighting how incorporating elements from their styles enhances one’s understanding of the game. He acknowledged the influence of iconic players like Obafemi Martins, Jay-Jay Okocha, and Nwankwo Kanu in shaping his football perspective while growing up.

The footballer’s insights provide a glimpse into the diverse range of players who have contributed to his development, both on the local and international fronts.
