Ghana coach Chris Hughton inspects Baba Yara Sports Stadium pitch ahead of Namibia friendly

The head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton has inspected the pitch at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium ahead of Ghana’s friendly match with Namibia.

Ghana and Namibia are scheduled to face off in a friendly encounter on Monday, January 8.

The game is expected to help the national teams of the two countries prepare well for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Following concerns about the poor condition of the pitch at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Coach Chris Hughton and some other technical team members on Friday inspected the pitch.

The pitch is already being worked on and the coach hopes the condition of the pitch will improve in the next couple of days before the friendly against Namibia on Monday.

After the friendly, the Black Stars will spend two more days in Kumasi before travelling to Ivory Coast for the 2023 AFCON.

At the tournament, Ghana is in Group B and will compete with Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.
