Davis Leino-Mills

Davis Leino-Mills, cherished for his vibrant spirit and compassionate heart, passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2024. Born into a life of cultural richness, Davis grew up in Hawaii, American Samoa, and California, an upbringing that fostered his love for diverse cultures and community service. This passion led him to the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone, a defining experience that shaped much of his later work with The American Cancer Society and as Executive Director of Otter Tail-Wadena County Community Action Agency. Even after his official roles ended, he continued to serve, evident in his time with Sanford Health and Baker Garden and Gift Inc.

Davis’s life was a testament to his dedication to others, whether through his professional endeavors or his personal connections. He leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment in his community, particularly cherished by his wife Pam, sister Judy, children Elizabeth (Scott) and Rob (Laura), grandchildren (Julia, Simone, Leah, Oscar, Remy), and close friends Deb, Denise, and many more. Known for his welcoming nature, Davis shared his love of cooking and the joy of a good meal with those around him. His enthusiasm for travel and adventure was contagious, and his absence will leave a void in the many lives he touched.

Beyond his travels, Davis was a man of constant motion, whether tending his garden, spending time with his beloved dogs, connecting with family and friends, or engaging in home projects. His life was a blend of exploration, love, and service, making him a unique and unforgettable figure in the hearts of those who knew him.

As we bid farewell to Davis, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of passion, kindness, and a deep commitment to making the world a better place. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us. Cheers to Davis, a remarkable man whose legacy will endure in the many lives he touched.
