Let’s take a closer look at their arrival…
Bafana’s fitting Ivorian welcome
Led by head coach Hugo Broos and captain Ronwen Williams, Bafana Bafana landed in Korhogo yesterday, ahead of their AFCON 2024 opener against Mali next Tuesday.
Dressed in their all-green team tracksuits, the Bafana stars received a joyous welcome as they exited their plan at the Korhogo aiport.
The team were greeted by several officials, who handed them green scarfs before ushering them to a spot outside the plane, to watch some traditional dancing.
The players wasted no time in whipping out their phones to record the dancers from the Senofu nation. The dancers were performing what is known as the Boloy, a Senufo male mask movement that’s also known as the panther dance according to ibiene.com.
These spirited mask dancers showcased some unreal acrobatics, which undoubtedly impressed the Bafana crew who made sure to capture their first moments in the Ivory Coast for the tournament.
