AFCON: NFF to hold send forth for Super Eagles on Tuesday in Lagos

A special dinner and send forth for the Nigeria Super Eagles ahead of their departure to AFCON 2023 in Cote ‘d ivoire will be held on Tuesday in Lagos.

Governors Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa,Douye Diri of Bayelsa, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta and Godwin Obaseki of Edo State are among the top dignitaries expected to be at the event.

Nigeria’s Sports Minister, Senator John Owan Enoh is expected to be the co-host of the special dinner for the Eagles.

Host of the event and NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, disclosed that top officials of the Lagos State Government, legislators, NFF Executive Committee members, representatives of NFF’s Corporate Partners and Sponsors, a handful of NFF’s Management, Chairman and Board of the Lagos State Football Association, respected football investor, Hon. Kunle Soname, former Nigerian Captain, Dr. Olusegun Odegbami, leading artistes, top celebrities and influencers will attend the occasion.

Super Eagles lost their last pre-AFCON friendly game to Guinea 2-0 on Monday.

The Super Eagles will begin their quest for a 4th Continental title with a clash against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, 14th January, before facing host nation, Ivory Coast, on Thursday, 18th January, and later wrap up their group’s game against Guinea Bissau on Monday, January 22nd.

The team is expected to depart for Ivory Coast on Wednesday
