Mozambique coach Chiquinho Conde has heaped praise on Ghana star Mohammed Kudus ahead of the crucial 2023 Africa Cup of Nations clash.
The Black Stars face Mozambique in a must-win encounter after failing to record a win in their first two games. Ghana lost 2-1 to Cape Verde in the opening game before playing out a 2-2 draw with Egypt.
Kudus, who plies his trade for West Ham United made a triumphant return to the Black Stars team after netting a brace in their 2-2 draw against Egypt last Thursday.
At the pre-match conference, Conde eulogized Ghana star Mohammed Kudus but insists the Black Stars must play as a team before they can secure victory.
“He is a great player and it is a great pleasure to see him play but this a team game. If he plays alone he will not be able to win the game so they need to play like a team. We have assessed the Ghana team and we know their strengths and weaknesses, we know they like to play more individually” he said.
The Black Stars need a victory against the Mambas to progress to the next round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire likewise Mozambique, who will also sail through with a win in Monday’s match.
Cape Verde have already won the group after back-to-back wins over Ghana and Mozambique. Egypt are second with two points while Ghana and Mozambique have a point apiece.
