A young musician and actor has been nominated to showcase his talents at the Applause Rising Talent Showcase (international ARTS) in Orlando, Florida, Rekord East reports.
The Grade 11 learner at Reddford House The Hills, Mosa Mogoera (17), will also be given an opportunity to perform in front of agents who get the chance to audition potential models, promising new actors and talented singers and dancers.
“I am excited that I will be performing in front of the best agents, managers and casting directors from markets big and small: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and more,” Mogoera said.
“On this trip, I will get to go sightseeing in New York and get a tour of the New York Film Academy. And travel to Orlando Florida for my showcase.”
Mogoera was born and bred in Pretoria. He lives in Grootfontein.
He told the media that his mother told him he started singing at the age of six.
“My mom told me the first song I loved singing was ‘You raise me up’ by Josh Groban when I was six. This is when my parents knew I had a talent for singing,” he said.
Growing up, he was a shy introvert and music has always made him happy.
“I started performing in Grade six in my school choir, and ever since then I have been performing solo and in choirs in concerts and showcases.
“In 2018, I showcased my talent at the Mzansi Arts talent showcase with their director being Weza in Gauteng. Shortly thereafter, I was contacted by the agency that I am now signed to, Just You model and artist management,” he said.
After being signed he auditioned for the ARTS and was called back to perform in the United States by Kim Meyers, who is the co-owner of ARTS; Rhavynn Drummer, who is the casting director for Tyler Perry studios; and Nate Butler, who is the junior casting producer for the Steve Harvey Show, Mogoera said.
