UAE: ekar Teams Up With CAFU

The region’s carshare operator ekar, looking to confirm that its fleet is always ready to launch a full tank of fuel in each vehicle, has partnered with on-demand car refueling company CAFU, consequent to a successful trial.

To identify cars which need refueling, ekar’s in-house developed app is used by CAFU, and when the vehicle isn’t in use, tops up the tanks ready to be driven by the next ekar customer.

Peter Moen, general manager, ekar UAE, remarked that a positive customer experience is at the core of their operations mantra and the partnership with CAFU ensures that each person unlocking their vehicles will be greeted by a full tank ready to enjoy their driving experience without the delay of fueling up. He added, “In addition, we cover additional costs including insurance so our drivers can enjoy all the benefits of car ownership, without the financial burdens.”

Rashid Al Ghurair, founder of CAFU, commented, “CAFU’s ambition has been to bring innovation and convenience to its customers. Our partnership with ekar echoes that sentiment and we are excited to roll out this new technology that helps drivers save time and provide easy access to fuel services. ekar has seen more than 15 million kilometers, since its launch in 2016, driven by its fleet which currently stands at 500 cars in the UAE and will pass more than 1,500 by the start of 2020.

Providing a network of vehicles for on-demand rent, ekar uses state-of-the-art instant reservations and smart access technology for its UAE fleet.To easily discover and book available cars,ekar enable users through its mobile app and website offering a “pay-by-the-use” pricing scheme. PWKD22102019
