Tunisia : Payment of the 1st tranche of the salary increases in the public sector in January 2019

Signed on October 22 between the UGTT and the government, the agreement on salary increases in the public sector will come into force from the month of January 2019. The increases will be so paid with the salary for the month of January 2019, and will be as follows :

Execution: 205 dinars, 70D-70D and 65 D

Mastery: 245D, or 80D-80D and 85D

Frameworks: 270 D, 90D-90D and 90D.

The increase this January will mark the first tranche of a set of three deadlines, the last of which is in 2020.

Furthermore, it is to remind that the negotiations about wage increases in the public sector have resumed between the government and the trade union central. The government had proposed to the trade union centre, an increase between 40 and 80 dinars as a first initiative, a total budget of 400 million dinars. For its part, the UGTT requires between 70 and 90 dinars increase, or a total of 1.1 billion dinars.
