Tunisia : The net assets in foreign currencies to 81 days of imports

According to the data of the Central Bank of Tunisia, the net assets in foreign currencies have reached 13.314 MD is the equivalent of 81 days of imports as of December 31, 2018, according to a press release published today by the financial institution.

A week ago, the net assets in foreign currency amounted to 80 days of import date of December 25, 2018. They corresponded to 83 days of imports, on October 31, and 75 days of imports on 26 September last.

This is far short of the 93 days of imports recorded during the same period in 2017, given that the number of days of imports, a key indicator in terms of foreign currency reserves, has a “threshold security” is set to 90 days.

In this release, the BCT also indicates that the value of banknotes and coins in circulation reached 12.465 MD and that the global volume of refinancing amounted to 15369 MD.
