Tunisia: eur 80 million IBRD to finance the education

Agency (Ecofin) – Tunisia will benefit from € 80 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), a-t-on learned on Wednesday, the news website Maghreb Emergent.

According to the media, the new funding that has been approved by the parliament of the country should be granted in the form of a line of credit. It is expected to strengthen the capacities of children, to improve the competence of teachers and to fight against early school leaving.

Please note that nearly 9,000 children under the age of 6 years old, distributed in 12 provinces of the country, should be affected by the new investment as the number of students is expected to surpass 800,000 people over the next few years.
