JOHANNESBURG – South African Airways will no longer fly to Blantyre in Malawi.
That’s after the Civil Aviation Authority found severe non-compliance at Chileka International Airport, that poses serious safety risks.

The CAA says the airport’s perimeter fence has been vandalised and falls short of international standards.
It also found that the airport’s ambulance and fire engine are in disrepair, which means emergency support services would not be immediately available.
SAA says the cancellation will remain in place until the airport complies.
SAA still flies to Lilongwe.
