Rwanda’s Climate Action Features At Sustainability Summit in Abu Dhabi

Environment Minister Mujawamariya Jeanne d’Arc is lined up for a presentation at a panel on the ongoing Future Sustainability Summit in Abu Dhabi.

She “will join a distinguished panel of experts to discuss “Before It’s Too Late: Meeting the Paris Agreement” and share Rwanda’s climate action and green growth experience,” the ministry said.

The Paris Agreement was an extraordinary step in establishing key benchmarks in the global battle against climate change. Now the International effort has hit its first obstacle. Sluggish adoption by the United Nations member states.

During this summit, there is demonstration of an effort to make up for the lost time, senior ministers from Global South, Climate Experts and business leaders are discussing how they want to move the Paris Agreement forward through a more efficient alignment between decision makers from policy, investment and technology.

Discussions at the four-day summit are guided by the theme; ‘Rethinking global consumption, production and investment.’

According to organisers, this Summit sets the stage for engaging, thought-provoking discussions on the global sustainability agenda and how advances in artificial intelligence, big data and the Internet of Things can accelerate sustainable development.

The minister is also scheduled to speak at the 2020 Women in Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy Forum on “Digitisation, artificial intelligence and the new digital economy: opportunities and challenges in promoting female inclusion.”

It is estimated that the summit has attracted more than 1,000 delegates and 90 speakers. At this summit are 35,000 participants from 170 countries and will also host over 50 exhibitors.
