Agency (Ecofin) – Yesterday, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has met with a delegation of the chinese giant e-commerce Alibaba, to discuss the increase of exports of agricultural products to China.
The chinese company was present in Kigali in the framework of the follow-up to an agreement signed in October with the government of rwanda on the project eWTP (Electronic World Trade Platform), with the goal of encouraging public-private dialogue.
The RDB and Alibaba desire to help the entrepreneurs of rwanda to export to China, most agri-food products such as beef, crayfish, avocado, pepper, bean, tomato, and other fruits and vegetables. As explained Claire Akamanzi, who is leading the RDB, China and its population offers a huge market for Rwanda.
According to the first information, assistance to businesses exporting the products concerned will be to lower the cost of the transport of air cargo to allow entrepreneurs rwandan market a larger volume of products.
