Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Professor Charles Dokubo
Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Professor Charles Dokubo, who raised the alarm on Friday in Abuja, said the demonstrations were slowing down the peacebuilding efforts in the region.
The presidential aide and some former youth leaders in the Niger Delta agreed that the series of protests by youths in the region, particularly in Bayelsa, have succeeded in creating an erroneous impression about the people.
The ex-agitators, therefore, insisted on a genuine deliberate and sustained the campaign and attitudinal change among the youths to change the narrative.
They also appealed to all well-meaning sons and daughters of the Niger Delta to rally support for President Muhammadu Buhari in efforts to meaningfully engage the youths with a view to effectively developing the region.
