Knightsbridge Circle, a £25,000-a-year private members club, is flying its clients to India and UAE, often on private jets, for luxurious vaccination holidays.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi are already offering private appointments for the Pfizer jab, and 20% of the service’s membership have chosen to fly out and get it.
[Club founder Stuart McNeil said] ‘It’s like we’re the pioneers of this new luxury travel vaccine programme. You go for a few weeks to a villa in the sunshine, get your jabs and your certificate and you’re ready to go.’
Obviously, not a surprise that there’s already a market for super wealthy people to get their doses. Everything has a price. If you can pay a guy to wait in line for you to audition for Shark Tank, or to get you a croissant-donut mutant, you better believe you can pay up for the world’s hottest needle.
You think Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mackenzie Bezos, and Lebron haven’t been vaccinated yet? Grow up, Peter Pan. If anything, I’m surprised that these old British dudes are being asked to fly to India and Abu Dhabi for it. That’s a long trip for a shot. Then again, £25,000 isn’t all that crazy for dues for a private club. Ask around for the various yearly dues at private golf courses in the Hamptons. Those members wouldn’t sneeze at (quick conversion math) $34,000/year.
But hey, the club still maintains its ethical standards:
Knightsbridge Circle has not vaccinated anyone under the age 65 and the club says it has a ‘moral responsibility’ to prioritise people who ‘really need it’.
Good for you, chaps. That’ll justify taking vaccines from elderly Indian citizens. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
PS- can’t help but think how fun it would be if these guys paid for these “vaccine holidays” only to find themselves Fyre Festivaled. They show up in Dubai and it’s all hurricane relief tents, and the syringes are just filled with Capri Sun juice. Would make for a great doc.
