Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi is back with ‘Cinema in the Park for the season

Abu Dhabi’s well-known Umm Al Emarat Park brings back its popular alfresco cinema, bringing back the theatrical magic with family-friendly film classics.

The open cinema ‘Cinema in the Park’ is going to bring back the experience of watching films out there, amongst nature. Film lovers of Abu Dhabi have been watching films to experience the real magic of cinema at this park, eating popcorn under moonlight whilst enjoying films from the times when all theatres were free of walls or roofs.

The cinema watching experience during the springtime is coming back with an impressive showing last time around, and like before, it will be completely free to watch. However, entry to the park is charged at Dhs10.

For winter 2020 to spring 2021 season last year, nearly 30 films were screened throughout October, with two films shown each night. Films like Moana, Dr Dolittle, Harry Potter, and the Chamber of Secrets, Zootopia, The Angry Birds Movie and Monsters Inc were of them that were showcased on the big screen.

This year, too, Cinema in the Park is going to feature back-to-back movie marathons. Though the line-up of movies has not been disclosed yet, the park is geared up for the season. Along with the screenings, the event will also have fun activities such as face painting and origami workshops, along with appearances by Mushrif the Mascot, and mor.

Not just the cinemas, the park is also a destination for numerous activities like a petting zoo, botanical garden, a wisdom garden, a miniature train ride, vegetable farming evening garden and a new attraction—Shade House. The Shade House is a sun filtered botanical observation hub, a cooling green space that you can now rent out for private functions.
