The Dubai Police’s community-based initiative “Positive Spirit” recently welcomed the force’s youngest volunteer, three-year-old Dania Khalid, who joined the initiative through the “Our Summer is Full of Fun and Joy” program .
Dania joined the Dubai police voluntarily and, under the supervision of her father, distributed water, drinks and umbrella hats to workers in residential areas.
Fatima Buhagir, the general coordinator of the Positive Spirit Initiative, said that the participation of girls is within the framework of encouraging and instilling children’s volunteerism, and pointed out that Dania is a volunteer registered through the “Volunteer.ae” platform.
She explained: “The initiative fully complies with the announced prevention and preventive measures against Covid-19 to ensure the safety of participants and beneficiaries of the initiative.”
Dania’s father, Khaled Saleh, said that he is keen to instill in his daughters the spirit of volunteerism, cooperation and community service, because these values help cultivate a generation that is passionate about giving back to the community.
“I made sure to accompany Dania in all her voluntary work. She participated in several voluntary and humanitarian work, including distributing iftar to those fasting and workers,” he said.
